The ending isn't horrible but it is a tad too short which always stands out for me when I have a playthrough but now I've started using mods it's less of an issue. I'm thinking it must be getting on the fence at the main entrance to then hop on to an outbuilding that has a pipe leading up to the building I need to get on to but I've not worked out how to get on the fence. Now I know it's possible I'll keep trying. The playable Pripyat map is half the size of the playable Zaton.Ĭheers, in my current game there has been a stash at the ranger station for ages that I just can't find and have realised it must be on the roof but I can't find a way to get on there. And despite my hours in the game, I very recently discovered a room with a stash that was accessed by a poorly illuminated doorway that I had never before noticed was open (I had always thought it was wall texture and had never looked closely). It's a great way to thoroughly explore the maps, especially Pripyat. I spend most of my time in Misery mod (post-campaign) freeplay, having elected to stay in the city and not evacuate with the rescue helicopters. In contrast, the first time you make it to the roof of the ranger station in Zaton is a revelation: it's a great view even if it serves no purpose. I also think that it was a mistake to make so many rooftops inaccessible in Pripyat-even the laundromat has climbable features that get you tantalizingly close to roof access but just not quite enough.
